Honkai: Star Rail Version 4.4 “In Ravages Does the Whistle Sound” Launching July 15th

MiHoYo continues to traumatize its fanbase: in 2025, they spent the whole year telling a romantic story like no other, filled with heartbreak and triumph. And now, more than halfway through 4.o set of updates, and as Planarcadia is supposed to be a vacation from last year, 4.4 looks to bring up past trauma from other miHoYo games. As Honkai: Star Rail Version 4.4 “In Ravages Does the Whistle Sound” is now on the horizon, it brings an emotional story where we might lose our beloved navigator, and the continuation of the Fate/Stay Night Unlimited Blades Work collaboration with two new characters, and one of them will be free. 4.4 is set for July 15th and will be available for PC, PlayStation, and mobile.

With 4.4 on the horizon, we are getting a lot of new and continuations of past collabs, so let’s talk about it. 4.4 brings the story continuation of 4.3, where we left off on a cliffhanger of Asat Pramad revealing himself to be the mastermind behind everything, and that for so long he has been masquerading as Himeko’s father. So we will be dealing with the fallout and officially fighting Asat Pramad, as the Trailblazer and the whole of the Astral Express will take him on but ultimately look to lose, since Asat Pramad can manipulate probability so he can’t lose. It will also focus on our beloved Navigator, Himeko, and her new form, Himeko Nova.

Himeko Nova is the newest form of Himeko, where she will continue to be a Fire Erudition. The difference is that she will be able to pilot a giant mech, which is awesome. Her design is also updated, paying homage to the other express passengers’ designs and making it a fitting one. The trailer also hinted that Himeko might die, mirroring a past miHoYo game, specifically Honkai: Impact, in which a version of Himeko sacrificed her life. It looks like Star Rail will repeat the past, but there is still hope that something will change. So, for the First half of the update, we will be getting Himeko Nova as the new character, with three other characters rerunning alongside her: Evernight, Dan Heng – Permansor Terrae, and Sparxie, as she will be getting a new skin in the update. The second phase will be Cerydra, Anaxa, and Aventurine.

 Along with the 4.4 update, we will see the continuation of the Fate collab with Star Rail, featuring the return of the Holy Grail War with new participants. As Rin Tohsaka and Gilgamesh join in, the Trailblazer will be Rin’s servant this time around, which looks to be interesting. A whole new system will be put into place for this Holy Grail War. The collab will take place right alongside the 4.4 main story, and both Gilgamesh and Rin will be on a banner, though on a separate banner from the main one, as Star Rail has a specific banner for them since the last collab. Logging in, you will get to choose between two free characters; you want either Archer or Gilgamesh, so if you missed out the first time or are returning for the second, you will get a choice between Archer and Gilgamesh.

Honkai: Star Rail Version 4.4 “In Ravages Does the Whistle Sound” is going to be an emotional ride. Not only are we locked in battle with a lord ravager, Asat Pramad, but we also run the risk of losing Himeko a second time, as the trailer purposely mimicked the infamous Honkai Impact death. 4.4 continues to up the stakes, and with defeat in sight, who knows how the Trailblazers will find a way out of this one. Honkai: Star Rail Version 4.4, “In Ravages Does the Whistle Sound,” is set for July 15th and will be available on PC, PlayStation, and mobile.
