Heroes Of The Storm Introduces New Map With “The Lost Cavern”

Popular MOBA game, Heroes of the Storm, is shaking it up with its upcoming big patch, called The Lost Cavern.

In this new battleground, Blizzard has eliminated the need for crowded map objectives, and instead created a single lane for players to utilize. According to Blizzard, these two major changes will “creates a slimmed-down play area in order to remain laser-focused on one constant, single-lane teamfight.”

Players will also be unable to heal at the start, nor can they hearthstone back, however, “Regeneration Orb spawns and brush, meanwhile, have been strategically placed around the lane to keep the fights active and interesting.”

The smaller arena almost ensures there will be more fighting. However, this new patch will not be available for play in Quick Match nor standard game modes. This mean that The Lost Cavern will only be playable through Custom Games.

In order to access this new map system, players are forced to invite friends through chat. Blizzard outlines the process below:

  • Create your Custom Lobby on Lost Cavern.
  • Open the Chat channel where you want to link your game.
  • Type /lobbylink Description
  • Press Enter to send the message
  • Players can now simply click your link and will be automatically placed into your Custom Game Lobby.

This patch will also see additional changes, such as a revamped Tomb of the Spider Queen, as well as Tychus and Gazlowe.

We should see the changes and challenges of The Lost Cavern out soon. Still no word on an exact release date, however. More updates soon!
