Herobeat Studios Reveals New Demo Nearly Complete For Endling: Extinction Is Forever

Herobeat Studios, a small indie game development team based in Barcelona, recently announced in a Twitter post that they are currently working on a new playable demo for their side-scrolling survival game titled Endling: Extinction is Forever. The project is a work-in-progress and is not planned to release for a while, however, excited players may soon be able to view a preview of the game soon.

Endling appears to take place in a future where man’s overexploitation has severely upset the natural balance and continue to endanger the wildlife. Here, players are tasked with protecting the last mother fox and her three young cubs from the dangers of the forest as well as one of their most dangerous threats to escaping captivity: mankind.

In Endling, our protagonist will need to use all of its foxiness to avoid the dangers of the forest, while collecting food to keep his family alive. Yet the player will find out that the biggest danger in the forest is the destructive effect of the human race, which corrupts day after day the most precious and needed resources of the natural environments.

Players will follow this family of foxes through “devastated environments based on real issues.” In order to survive, they will need to find shelter, hunt food, and do their best to avoid the various dangers lurking in the forest. Your instincts will be tested as you will need to “get involved in emotional taxing decisions.” Can you help them find a new home?

You can take a look at the 2018 teaser for Endling below. No official trailers have been released as of yet.

Endling: Extinction is Forever is currently in development and, at the time of posting, does not have a release date. According to its Steam Store page, the studio plans on launching the game sometime in 2021, given everything goes according to plan. Endling is expected to be playable on both PC and console devices, though no specifics have been revealed as of yet.
