Heaven Burns Red Now Live Following 200K Pre-Registrations

Heaven Burns Red is a free-to-play turn-based mobile game, co-developed by WFS, Inc. and Key. It was originally released in Japan in February 2022 where it saw a huge amount of success on Android, iOS, and PC. The game surpassed one million downloads within in just four days following its launch. As players in Japan experiencced the game, gacha fans around the world, including those in the United States, became interested. Its widespread fanbase has asked for a global release of Heaven Burns Red ever since it hit the market, and yesterday, their request was finally fulfilled.

Heaven Burns Red  is set in an alternate universe, where the world is being attacked by extra-terrestrial creatures known as Cancer. Humanity is forced to abandon most of the world’s surface in order to escape Cancer, who are immune to nearly all weaponry. Fortunately, the remnants of humanity is able to develop a special weapon called Seraph, which gives them a fighting chance. Groups of Seraph experts are established as the Seraph Corps, all of which are female.

When players open up the game, they experience the game’s universe through former vocalist and guitarist, Ruka Kayamori. They are tasked with forming a team of six out of 48 available girls to fight Cancer in rounds of turn-based combat. The game is told mainly in a visual novel format with fully voiced characters.

The English version of Heaven Burns Red released globally at 9am on November 15, following a groundbreaking 200,000 pre-registrations. While many video games are available only to those who can afford expensive consoles and computers, mobile games are designed for the average person.
