Hearthstone’s Kobolds & Catacombs Release Date Revealed

Hearhstone’s newest expansion, Kobolds & Catacombs received an extensive look back at BlizzCon earlier this month. During the convention Blizzard held their “Hearthstone: What’s Next” presentation that showed off a multitude of new cards, mechanics, and a new single player mode for the game.

Developers for the game also shared some details about some of the legendary cards and new features brought in with the new expansion. After the outpour of information we received last month from the developer Blizzard has now given fans something else to be excited for by officially announcing the release date for the expansion.

Kobolds & Catacombs will be available for players starting on December 8, and will introduce many new features along with it. One of which is Dungeon Runs; a free single player mode for the expansion that has up to 48 different encounters and will feature 3 one time quests that will award one Kobolds & Catacombs card pack for each. Another one is Recruit: a brand new keyword which allows a random minion from the player’s deck will be summoned to the field to fight. The expansion is also bringing in the new card types: Spellstones and Unidentified Items. And each of the 9 classes within the game will be receiving a Legendary weapon.

Immediately after release, players will receive one Legendary Weapon card and 3 Kobolds & Catacombs card packs free. For those looking to purchase the expansion pack before December 8, they can pre purchase it within a 50 pack bundle for $49.99 on Battle.net or Blizzard’s game shop. Pre purchasing the expansion will also give players a shining “FOR THE HORD” card back to add to their collection. Also on November 30 there will be a special kobold themed episode of Critical Role on Twitch where Mathew Mercer and a few other voice actors will undergo a kobold  themed adventure!
