Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft, Blizzard’s immensely popular collectible card game based on the Warcraft universe, seems like an obvious kind of game to be released for mobile phones, but it’s only now that iPhone and Android users can sink countless hours into the game.
The game was previously only playable on PCs, Macs and tablets, but now Hearthstone has achieved a new level of portability. The game has received various adjustments to compensate for the smaller screens of smartphones, which can’t adequately show as many cards as desktop monitors. Blizzard have modified the UI so that players’ cards are only half visible at the bottom of the screen, and can be inspected individually by tapping on them.
Otherwise, the game is virtually identical to its PC, Mac and tablet counterparts, and is cross compatible across all platforms. Players can user their Battle.net accounts to play the game on one platform and then pick up where they left off on another. The game is free to play, unless you decide to purchase its expansion packs, Naxxramas and the recently released Blackrock Mountain.
And speaking of Blackrock Mountain, the fifth and final wing of this five-wing adventure has just been released. The entire adventure consists of 17 bosses, 9 Class Challenges, and 31 new collectible cards which include 5 legendaries and 18 class cards. Each of the five wings can be unlocked using in-game currency or real money.
