Dust off your Master Chief a new battle is coming. Today, 343 Industries released a trailer detailing how the free-to-play multiplayer will work on weapons, armor, and the sandbox experience. This new mode is going to change the gaming experience as friends will now be able to play, for free, across multiple platforms using cross-play and cross-progression. Here’s everything you need to know according to the blog post.
The multiplayer mode will include a battle pass that never expires, the first of its kind. Although the price of the pass hasn’t been mentioned, Halo Infinite players will be able to purchase previous season passes to choose which battles they want to focus on. In addition, the Halo developers are heavily focusing on amenities such as: heavy-duty armor, weapons, and vehicle customization. Players will be able to earn customizations through gameplay, personalizing every detail of their Master Chief.
Armor customizations will include coatings, emblems, and effects. Weapons and vehicles will also include a variety of different customizations to choose from. Players can either customize items in-game or through the Halo Waypoint website and mobile app. Customizations will be unlocked through gameplay, each season will introduce new cosmetics that gamers can collect.
Weapons are returning and fans would be glad to know that they are going back to their original form. Assault rifles, battle rifles, gravity hammers, needlers, plasma pistols, and plasma grenades are making a coming back to the game’s arena.
Combat is also a little different in this sixth installment. With tactical play, grappling hooks can be used with other equipment to complete game objectives. Grappling hooks can also be used to move quickly around the map and to grab throwable objects.
As for vehicles, Halo Infinite is centralizing them on the battlefield. A new Razorback vehicle is being added to the game and vehicles will now be dropped off by Pelicans. But be wary, using a vehicle could cost you.
Academy and training is also getting a major upgrade. Halo Infinite is using bots to help train players. The training will utilize different difficulty levels so every time you get better, so does your trainer.
Gamers will be glad to know that crossplay and cross-progression will be included in Halo Infinite’s launch despite 343 Industries not yet explaining how they plan to manage crossplayer controller vs mouse and keyboard. Nonetheless, these upgraded features have Halo fans excited for this game’s release.
