At long last, the moment that Halo fans have been waiting for is almost here. Halo Infinite will officially launch next week on December 8, unleashing the seemingly never-ending Forerunner Saga that began back in 2012. The free-to-play multiplayer has been going strong since it dropped a couple of weeks ago, but the meat and potatoes of this package is truly the storyline, something that has been the subject of discussion since the game was initially revealed. Thankfully, 343 Industries has reminded us of what’s at stake with a brief launch trailer, giving us a glimpse of the enemy, as well as Master Chief’s own moral dilemma.
When all hope is lost and humanity’s fate hangs in the balance, the Master Chief is ready to confront the most ruthless foe he’s ever faced. #HaloInfinite launching December 8, 2021.

The trailer offers a very short cinematic of the conflict between Chief and the enemies, one of which states a very eerie and foreshadowing phrase to the hero. The rest of the video is Chief blasting his way through opponents in a gameplay montage, all the while looking very beautiful and crisp. The launch trailer serves to remind us that Chief is still fighting for the sake of everyone he knows and loves, as well as confronting a new and powerful enemy, and one that he knows all too well.
Despite everything that’s happened since the title was initially revealed, it’s refreshing to see that 343 has not forgotten what made the Halo series to enduring to begin with. A great storyline combined with an excellent first-person shooter experience, and soon enough we’ll find out just how the story of Infinite plays out.
Halo Infinite will officially launch next week on December 8 for the Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC. The free-to-play multiplayer is available right now.
