H1Z1 Adjustments Coming In Season 4

H1Z1’s fourth season is on its way and it looks like the developers are focusing a lot to changes on the scoring and ranking systems. Season 3 has wrapped up and what is being called Preseason 4 has begun, with the developers at Daybreak addressing loyal player feedback. The main complaint that they had received was that “Royalty” was too easy to achieve, which made getting kills less impactful. To fix this, kill scores will be increased in all aspects and that will lead to the threshold for Royalty entry being raised.

Also, kill scores will be tweaked a little more in the upcoming season with kill values being used in a way that will more accurately reflect the motions that each match typically goes through. The kill values will be assigned to those “phases,” which differs from how kills used to be assigned in escalating value. Tier distribution is something that will also be adjusted along with the entire length of the Season. For specific numbers on what is changing, check a few of the charts on the Season’s page.

Rather than completely ending Season 3 with an offseason, the devs are having a sort of preseason with Season 3 rewards being extended until May 29. This will allow players to hurry up and unlock as many levels of the Battle Pass as possible before new skins and clothing options come around. The Season 4 Battle Pass is already available for purchase for players that want to get ahead and see what early rewards are available.

The final main change coming is an update to the Third-Person ADS. This aiming mechanic is something that Daybreak realizes the community talks about very much and wants it to be consistent and reliable before implemented across all games modes outside of Arcade Mode. The update will eventually add new sensitivity sliders and reduce recoil bloom to act “consistently between First and Third Person ADS for all weapons.”

H1Z1 Season 4 launches on PS4 on May 30. If you’d like to make some direct comparisons to Season 3, check out our previous article.
