Green Goblin, Carnage, and Magneto Join Dr. Doom in Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls

In today’s State of Play, we were treated to the penultimate team in Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls, Dr. Doom’s Knights. This is pretty exciting, since none of Doom’s team had been revealed up till this point, but now we know: It’s Dr. Doom, Magneto, Green Goblin, and Carnage.

Magneto, of course, is a tag team fighting game staple, so his appearance here is pretty welcome. He seems to be more metal/projectile based than his appearances in Capcom’s Marvel vs. Capcom series, and summons a giant Sentinel to help him (so this technically counts as a Sentinel appearance too!). Green Goblin has been a fan demand in any Marvel game for years, so it’s nice to finally see him at work here. He seems to revolve around his glider, and might even be the primary ArcSys puppet fighter character with said glider.

Though speaking of puppet fighters, the last member, Carnage, definitely takes a lot of Guilty Gear’s Zato’s goop effects. Carnage is all about long range normals and aggression from what we can see, though he isn’t Venom, Carnage’s symbiote powers make him about as deadly and also make him a unique pick.

With the reveal of this team, there’s only one team left, Ghost Rider’s, which is sure to be the weirdest of the bunch. Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls releases this year on August 6th, 2026.
