Gravity Falls Creator Draws Presidential Candidates As Pokémon

Alex Hirsch, creator of the excellent show Gravity Falls, like most of us, is feeling the tension of the current presidential election and to take the edge off Hirsch imagined the candidates as Pokémon. Hirsch took to Twitter to show off his take on Bernie Sanders as Charmander, Donald Trump as Muk, Hilary Clinton as Butterfree, Marco Rubio as Diglett and Ben Carson as Snorlax. Hirsch was pretty even handed, except for one, in his depictions of the candidates, most of them seem to be puns on the their names. Gameinformer reports.

Some of Hirsch’s followers joined in on the action and envisioned one of his designs as a trading card.

Dana Terrace, who worked with Hirsch as an animator on Gravity Falls also got in on it, choosing to draw Ted Cruz as Hypno.

Whether your a Republican, Democrat, or somewhere in between, I think we can all agree that these designs are pretty funny. Personally, my favorite is Bernie Sanders as “Burnie”.
