Grand Theft Auto VI Suffers Third Round Of Significant Leaks

Over the years, the highly anticipated GTA VI has suffered numerous leaks. Back in 2022, Rockstar Games suffered what many consider to be one of the biggest leaks in the video game industry when 50 minutes of footage of Grand Theft Auto VI from more than 90 videos were posted online. In December 2023, the game’s first trailer leaked 24 hours earlier than scheduled which led to Rockstar Games posting the trailer early. Now, a third round of leaks has been posted online, reportedly due to a group called ‘CyberLeek’ who released a manifesto with three demands that are focused on going against the all-digital future, “fake” single-player DLC, and the removal of single-player content that consumers have paid for.

Two videos presumably showing GTA 6 were released. One features protagonist Jason playing basketball outside his home. The other video has Jason driving a car and attacking an NPC. In addition to the gameplay videos, an image of the game’s full map has also been posted online as well as a few seconds of a cutscene. The footage also has layed this message on top of the footage: “No physical discs? Then more leeks!”

CyberLeek’s manifesto has criticism for the lack of a physical disc for GTA VI, and The Crew, which was at the heart of the Stop Killing Games consumer movement after Ubisoft made it unplayable even by the people who bought the game. CyberLeek reportedly ends threats against other video game publishers.

“Publishers should beware,” the manifesto concludes. “If CyberLeek can reach Rockstar, no one is safe. This is a message to all big corpo: behave, or be the next target.”

The authenticity of the gameplay and map is still unconfirmed. Rockstar Games and parent company Take-Two have been working to remove video uploads from across social media.

This comes right before the Extended Look happening next week on Thursday, August 27, 3 pm ET on  Netflix.
