Developer miHoYo has announced that their Genshin Impact 5.6 update titled ‘Paralogism’ is set for release on May 7.

In a release, shared by Gematsu, miHoYo shares that the update includes a new ‘Archon Quest Interlude Chapter’ which will lead players to Mondstadt. The Archon Quest includes the player’s return to Monstadt during the Windblume Festival and a quest related to the characters Albedo, Venti, the Knights of Favionius, Dahlia and Lady Alice.

While set in Mondstadt players will find themselves under the threat of monsters invading the city, and ongoing negotiations with Lady Alice. Players will participate in a magical trial to defend Monstadt. The mages trial will appear in the form of a Weekly Boss Challenge, set on a mystical chessboard where you’ll battle the King and Queen of the Board.

The update features an amusement park in Fontaine with a management style mini-game known as the Chevalmarin Film Fantasyland. miHoYo promises it will include characters Navia and Natlan and will manage three attractions; Eclectic Escapades, Movie Masterpieces, and Mellow Manor. You’ll upgrade facilities and increase your service value by recruiting employees. Buffs are included in the form of “Friendly Encounters” where the local chef may offer management techniques. Players can allocate Action Points and unlock performance rewards. The 4-Star Bow, Sequence of Solitude is attainable in rewards.

Paragolism Includes two new characters, both Escoffier and Ifa. Escoffier is a former chef of Hotel Debord, who is a five star cryo polearm wielder. Her combat style blends her culinary abilities with elementals. She can summon an All-Spectrum Multi-Use Cooking Mek which can absorb elemental damage and prepare food. She can also help the main character deliver Cryo damage. Her elemental burst heals all allies, reduces enemies’ Hydro and Cryo Resistance, and she is strengthened with more Hydro or Cryo teammates. Ifa, a Four star sauro-vet fights with his companion Cacucu. He can Rain Tonicshots on his foes while healing teammates and summon a current that pulls enemies to control the field. When in Nightsoul’s Blessing, his Swirl and Electro-Charged damage is boosted. Ifa will also automatically heal the active character when their hp falls low.

Paralogism’s opportunity to obtain new characters and weapons in Event Wishes includes the first phase of Escoffier, Navia, and Ifa. Following are Kinich and Raiden Shogun. Opportunities to obtain rerun characters are present in Chronicled Wish, featuring the various five star characters from Inazuma. 

Genshin Impact is set to allow players to run the amusement park until May 7 and this feature-rich update 5.6 will lead back into the main story. The update is set to release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, and PC. miHoYo reports a switch version is planned.
