Genshin Impact 1.4 Update Includes the Windblume Festival, a New Four-Star Character, and More

With the events of the 1.3 updates wrapping up, Genshin Impact is ready to venture into 1.4 and on Saturday, miHoYo revealed what the next update will bring. Mainly we can expect to see a bunch of events coming up as well as a couple of re-run banners for much-awaited characters.

The main event 1.4 will bring is the Windblume festival, which appears to be the Mondstat version of the Lantern Rite festival which took place in Liyue last month. This upcoming festival is open to any player who is Adventure Rank 20 or above and has completed the “Song of the Dragon and Freedom” quest. They will be able to join in many mini-games which will give players loads of rewards including Primogems, Hero’s Wits, and more. For anyone who wants to learn more about certain characters, players will be able to interact with Barbara, Noelle, Bennett, and Chongyun in a sort of dating sim game and can end up with different storylines and endings depending on the player’s choices. Each ending players get will reward them with a Hangout Memory illustration.

In regard to the mini-games, there will be three of them: Bullseye Balloons, Floral Freefall, and Ballads of Breeze. Each of these will test different skills like archery, gliding, and music playing. Completion of these events will allow players to purchase certain items in the Event Shop, including two event exclusives – the Windblume Festival Commemorative Balloon and the Windsong Lyre. There will also be a new four-star weapon available called the Windblume Ode.

Currently, there are still seven days left in Hu Tao’s banner, but miHoYo has already confirmed the next two banners arriving in 1.4, both of which are rerun. The first of which includes Venti, the Anemo Archon, who is an Anemo archer. The following banner will be for Childe or Tartaglia, who is one of the Eleven Harbingers of the Fatui, and is a Hydro archer. However, there will be a new four-star character coming. Rosaria is a Cryo polearm who players were first introduced to during Albedo’s story quest.

There will also be some smaller changes coming. The first of which concerns condensed resin caps, while currently, players can only hold three, soon, they will be able to hold up to five. Also, players will be able to temporarily lower their world level in order to allow their lower-ranked friends to join their world in co-op mode. Another thing is that players will be able to manually cook food even if they have already mastered the dish and unlocked autocook.

Update 1.4 is arriving soon on March 17. Genshin Impact is free and available on PC, iOS, Android, and PlayStation 4.
