Gamescom Opening Night Live 2026: Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy Launch Trailer

Gamescom 2026 is the last big summer event where studios and developers come together to showcase new and upcoming games or release more trailers for games on the horizon to hype gamers up. And at Gamescom, we got the final trailer for Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy as the launch trailer was officially showcased ahead of its Augst 27th release, and in the trailer we get an in-house cover of “Enjoy The Silence” (Martin Gore) along with the final looks at the game which showcases combat, story-elements and the main character attempting to live and escape an island where its inhabitants blame her for a character’s death. Along with a good look at the world and the darkness that’s inhabiting it. Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy is set to release on August 27th for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam and The Epic Games Store.

Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy is the newest and latest in the Plague Tale franchise, no longer following Aimicia and Hugo; this time, an all-new protagonist, Sophia, and her quest to uncover her connection to the ancient history of the Prima Macula. This time around, the game will focus on action, as it is primarily a third-person action-adventure game, with prior titles in the series focusing more on stealth and rats. As mentioned before, the launch trailer showcased plenty of action and gameplay, along with the island where the game is set and the darkness that plagues the world. It also showed off a cover of a song, with many in the comments section demanding a full cover, which is funny.

Resonance: A Plague Tale: Legacy is only a couple of days away from release, as it’s the newest in the series and is departing a bit from the other titles but still retains the look and feel of the previous titles. Asobo Studios, a French studio, is developing the game, so you have the French to thank for another cool and exciting title. Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy is set to release on August 27th for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam and The Epic Games Store.

Jorge Peredo: Growing up, I've always been fascinated by storytelling, whether through reading, watching, or playing video games. Having been exposed to storytelling for so long, I have been influenced, and through that influence, I seek to write and create my own stories that others can enjoy and that I can be proud of.
