Freebird Games Releases New Trailer for The Last Hour of an Epic TO THE MOON RPG

Freebird Games has released a new trailer for The Last Hour of an Epic TO THE MOON RPG. The upcoming turn-based RPG is in development for PC via Steam. A demo is planned for October’s Steam Next Fest, while the full game is currently planned for early 2027.

The trailer and Steam page show battles highlighting the new turn-based RPG combat. Eva, Neil, Roxie, and Rob each have their own skills, with the game using the exaggerated structure of an old-school RPG while still preserving the emotional story style of the To the Moon series.

In a shift to a more traditional format, The Last Hour of an Epic TO THE MOON RPG reunites the SigCorp crew from Freebird Games’ To the Moon series. Instead of a standard, long-form adventure, the game skips straight to the climax, placing Neil, Eva, Roxie, and Rob into the final dungeon with an already-equipped party. Described on Steam as the beginning and the end of the franchise, this final entry combines the series’ overarching narrative with standard RPG mechanics, including dungeon navigation, puzzles, and turn-based combat.

Freebird Games shared a development update in July 2025, saying the project was still progressing while the team worked on the foundation of new engine. The studio also said the game is meant to help wrap up the series after Just a To the Moon Series Beach Episode, which launched in 2024. The original To the Moon followed doctors Eva Rosalene and Neil Watts as they entered dying man’s memories to fulfill his final wish. The series later continued with Finding Paradise, Impostor Factory, the Sigmund Minisodes, A Bird Story, and Just To the Moon Series Beach Episode.

The Last Hour of an Epic TO THE MOON RPG is available to wishlist now on Steam.

Runa Nguyen: As a child, I translated strategy guides from English into Vietnamese for my dad so he could play through the Final Fantasy games, and in the process, the franchise became one of my own most beloved. From there, my life was filled with MMORPGs like Ragnarok Online, which I still look back on with fondness. I’m a fiction writer with a background in Creative Writing who primarily writes dark romance, but video games will always remain a big part of my life.
