Announced earlier this year at the February Nintendo Direct, Nintendo has a revamp of the 2017 3DS Miitopia title in the works for the Nintendo Switch. The Switch version is set to launch next month, but Nintendo has decided to release a free demo ahead of its full release.
The demo allows for players to create their Miis and begin their journey through this RPG. Players will be able to play through the beginning sequence and if they choose to go ahead and purchase Miitopia their Miis and progress will be saved and moved to the full version.
This upcoming Miitopia will follow a similar storyline to the original. Players will create a cast of Miis and embark on a journey through a fantasy world in order to ultimately bring down the Dark Lord. They can assign roles and personalities to their Miis to change up their approaches to battle. They can also build relationships among their group of adventurers by pairing them up in inns and during outings which will make them help each other out and learn invaluable skills like ‘lend a hand.’ Throughout the journey, the Miis will come across various towns and supporting characters which will give them quests to aid on their adventure. However there are some differences from the original, the revamp will include some bonus features like “an adorable horse pal, wigs and makeup, and more.”
Miitopia will be available on the Nintendo Switch for $49.99 on May 21. Right now, the demo is available on the Nintendo eShop and any progress made in the demo can be carried over to the full game.
