“For Poland!” Lidia Sobieska’s Tekken 8 Gameplay Trailer Revealed at Combo Breaker

Bandai Namco’s flagship fighting game Tekken 8 just earlier today finished one of many Tekken World Tour major tournaments, this one being Combo Breaker 2024. Combo Breaker is an event filled with practically every fighting game you can think of from Street Fighter to Mortal Kombat to obscure Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle fighters but the crown jewel of Combo Breaker has always been Tekken, so it makes sense that for this event they decided to release the gameplay trailer for Lidia Sobieska, the next character in Tekken’s Season 1 DLC lineup.

Originally debuting in Tekken 7, Lidia is a pretty recent addition to Tekken’s long and storied roster. She’s the Prime Minister of Poland, and utilizes a pretty straightforward but brutal style of Karate as her martial art, similar to protagonist Jin Kazama without the Devil powers. And like Jin, she’s fashionable on the battlefield, sporting a traditional but stylized gi as her default but undoubtedly will come with her Sunday best suit she had in Tekken 7 like Jin, so suit enjoyers won’t be left behind.

Lidia had an incredibly high playrate in Tekken 7 after her release, until nerfs dropped those numbers off a cliff. Here’s hoping that the Lidia enjoyers in the Tekken community get to play their Prime Minister to her fullest potential this time around, as she boasts some new moves and, of course, has the Heat System at her disposal to make her even deadlier on block.

Lidia’s release should come soon, so look forward to that and if you’re a Season Pass owner you’ll be seeing her soon. There have already been hints as to who the other two characters in the Season Pass are and if you’re interested in seeing them look at our article covering that. Happy fighting, and congratulations on the Philippines’ own AK for winning the Tekken 8 Combo Breaker tournament!

I hope my history in this hobby and my enthusiasm for writing helps me convey news to you accurately and succinctly.
