Running With Scissors is renowned for their POSTAL franchise and the excessive violence featured in their games. Yesterday, the studio dropped their second official trailer for their current project Flesh & Wire. It is a spin-off from the POSTAL series, centering a main character who was a victim to the Postal Dude. The game is a psychological horror first person shooter, returning the developers to their darker roots.
The games main protagonist is Angel, a college student who is traveling across Arizona to seek out vengeance against the Postal Dude. He is the crazed gunman who has changed her life forever, tossing her into a world filled with conspiracies and bloodshed. Players are invited to follow her journey, helping Angel find answers and sate her vengeful palate.
Flesh & Wire‘s second official trailer displays stunning 3D graphics, Angel’s loyal sphinx cat Solomon, and monstrous enemies. These grotesque figures come to life within Angel’s Dreamscape, an otherworldly hallucinatory state that warps her reality with nightmarish visions. Past traumas haunt her, leaving players to navigate Angel’s ever changing reality.
Players will have a ruthless arsenal at their disposal. Weapons will include conventional weaponry, explosives, improvised arms, and unearthly gear. They will be able to summon otherworldly artifacts, using their abilities and powers to tear down their enemies.
Along with the uncanny monsters, players will face off against military forces, shadow agents, and mysterious zealots. They will have a journal to document new weapons, the creatures they encounter, and piece together Angel’s story. If players wish to find the truth behind the madness, they will have to find secret messages and hidden recordings to uncover the answers.
Angel is voice acted by Jennifer Sun Bell, renowned as the VA for White Fox in Marvel Rivals and Nora Armstrong in Metroid Prime 4: Beyond. Flesh & Wire can be wishlisted now on Steam and the Playstation 5 store page. The developers plan to release the game in 2027 with pricing and more information later to come.
