Fist Of The North Star Announced

The creators behind the Yakuza series have recently announced that they are working on a new title. The new project will take influences from Buronson and Tetsuo Hara’s Fist of the North Star, which is a manga that aired from 1983 to 1988. It featured a warrior set in a post apocalyptic world in the 90’s. Kenshiro, the protagonist is the master of a deadly fighting style known as Hokuto Shinken. He uses his fighting skills to protect innocent bystanders. The manga was responsible for two different animes, some OVA’s, and couple of video games including an action side scroller which also starred Kenshiro.

The game was made by Shouei System for the NES and was first released in Japan in 1987 under the title Hokuto No Ken 2. The new game, titled Hokuto ga Gotoku, is expected to be released for the Playstation 4 sometime next year in Japan. The announcement trailer shown below displays Kenshiro fighting a gang of enemies big and small alike. He uses a lot of fast and dynamic moves to send his foes flying (literally), and at the end Kenshiro seems to use a mind blowing attack.

Gematsu reports that the version of the game will be after the events that took place within the manga. The story will involve Kenshiro and searching for Yuria, his so called “dead” fiancee in Eden. The purpose of her still being alive is he only motivation for his journey around the world fighting bad guys after his own death. These enemies also might have a connection too some of the scars on Kenshiro’s body. Hopefully there will be a few more details on this title in the near future. However, there has been no known news yet involving any localization developments.
