Square Enix has made the big announcement that Final Fantasy XV is coming to PC in light of Gamescom. The developer says that this edition of the game will be “more immersive than ever before.” Also it will make use of a few Nvidia graphics features including one that will improve the appearance of everyone in the game’s hair. Game director Hajime Tabata said in a press release that working with Nvidia will allow the team to deliver a “stunning visual experience” to this version of the game. However, there is one tiny detail that has fans troubled about the announcement: a press release for the PC edition of the game stated that it will require 170 GB of free space.
But luckily Tabata stepped in and reassured fans that this was a mistake. During an interview with Kotaku Tabata stated “That was a mistake, actually.” Tabata said “that was a communications mistake – something got put in a memo that really shouldn’t have. What that is (the specifications that went out to press) based on the specs that we’re running the demo on today.”
The final spec for the Final Fantasy XV Window s Edition are not yet set in stone. Tabata also added that in the time between now and the early 2018 release window that there still exists a “very good chance” that these specs will change. Global brand manager Raio Mitsuno told PC Gamer that gameplay wise Final Fantasy XV for PC will be relatively the same as the console version but graphically wise the PC players will have the best experience depending on their set up.
