Fall Guys has launched their new season today with the much anticipated level-editor mode. Today’s Season 4, dubbed “Creative Construction” will finally let players build and share their custom levels with the community. Throughout the new season, 50 Creative Rounds created by Mediatonic’s Blunderdome Construction Crew, will be released to players. The levels come directly from the developers and were made in the level-editor. Currently 20 of those rounds are launching today, with the rest coming later on through the season.
Last week, developer Mediatonic teased how the level-editor will work in an announcement video. The devs showed off the construction of custom levels, going through how easily building levels will operate, as well as sharing them to the community and friends to play through. Players will be able to build levels on both PC and console. Custom levels will give players access to bounce pads, fans, rotating hammers, slippery goo, and much more to make levels all the more challenging. There is a limit on how many objects can be placed in a custom level. All players need in every level of course is a start and finish line. Currently, there are only two themes for the custom levels, classic and digital, with more coming soon.
Mediatonic has also revamped the Season Pass system, renaming it to “Fame Pass.” Instead of one season-long game pass— as many players are accustomed to in nearly every game with a battle pass system now— the Fame Pass will be a shortened version and multiple will be available throughout the season.
Fall Guys first launched in the summer of 2020 as a full-priced title. Within 24 hours of release, the game had over 1.5 million players. Fall Guys became a staple COVID-era game, with the likes of Among Us, amassing a huge following of players stuck inside. By the end of 2020, Mediatonic confirmed 11 million copies were sold on PC alone. In June 2022, Fall Guys went free-to-play and grew its player base even more, with over 50 million players.
