Fairy Tail RPG Gets New Release Date

Months after the official anime and manga finale, the largely anticipated RPG based on Fairy Tail is finally receiving its last release date after being delayed due to COVID-19. The newest date was revealed to be July 31st at the New Game + Expo earlier this week. Originally the game was supposed to arrive on June 25th, but was pushed back due to complications that followed the stay at home orders from COVID-19. Along with this new date, the publisher (Koei Tecmo)  also released a new trailer with the confirmation that the game will be available on Nintendo Switch, PC, and PlayStation 4.

Fairy Tail ( written by Hiro Mashima) is a long-running anime and manga series telling the story of newly developed wizard Lucy Heartfilia as she joins her dream magical guild Fairy Tail. As she joins the aforementioned guild she must then learn and uncover the secrets surrounding not only the guild itself but also its members and their connections to the mythical beings of Earth Realm

The newest trailer revealed the game will feature many fan-favorite arcs that players will get to adventure through as their favorite mage, along with “popular fan-favorite episodes and [original] in-game episodes”. As of now there are 16 available characters to play (listed below) in this turn-based RPG, and looks to be in the same style and mechanics as the popular Persona 5 games.
