Explore Dungeons In Your Area With Link On Google Maps

To help fans celebrate both the 30th anniversary of the epic Legend of Zelda franchise and the release of The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD today for the Wii U, Google Maps altered their staple Pegman figure to everyone’s favorite pot-smashing savior: Link.

In the spirit of adventure and exploration, Google Maps is offering some hidden surprises that any legendary adventurer will love. Just log in to the browser version of Google Maps and a familiar hero will guide you through all your journeys through perilous dungeons. -Nintendo.

The promotion will extend for the next five days, and if you want to view Link, make sure you are using Street View!

This isn’t the first time Google has nodded its gigantic, multibillion dollar head in gamers’ direction. Last year, the popular map app added a feature to allow user to trek on a Pokemon adventure where they could catch ’em all. Before that, they had a everyone’s favorite ghost chasing, maze solving protagonist Pac-Man doing his thing on the map.

Google also went out of their way to create a map depicting Link’s home, the kingdom of Hyrule.

This is Link’s trusty map that helped him traverse both Hyrule and Termina in his efforts to thwart evil across the lands and bring the age of peace to fruition.

(In actuality, this is a fictional map that serves to playfully mark the real world up as if it were the maps from both Zelda: Ocarina of Time and Zelda: Majora’s Mask.)

You can venture on GPS adventures with Link until March 10th, and purchase Twilight Princess HD for your Wii U at $60 USD.
