Escape from Tarkov Hits 200 Thousand Concurrent Players

The survival FPS Escape from Tarkov hit the week running by completely resetting the game’s progression and following that with a ban of over three thousand cheaters and hackers. Battlestate Games COO Nikita Buyanov took to Reddit to announce that Escape from Tarkov hitting the various milestones. he also asked for feedback on the latest patch.

Unfortunately, Escape from Tarkov’s latest patch required every players’ progress in-game to be wiped back to the beginning before it could be implemented. Despite the progression setback, the players did get a new set of quests and a season that will get players back to where they were before. With the latest patch, Escape from Tarkov did see a surge in cheaters which resulted in a large wave bans up to three thousand players. Battlestate Games promises that the player base will be informed every time that they have to do a large wave of bans again.

Escape from Tarkov released its alpha back in 2016 but remained under the radar until a large scale Twitch advertising campaigned that happened last year. The campaign catapulted Escape from Tarkov into mainstream popularity, with players enjoying the heavy gun customization, and realistic feel such as have the damage output depend on what type of ammunition is loaded into the firearm, while the rate of fire depends on the weapon and recoil is a mixture of both.

Escape from Tarkov also spiked in popularity for streamers and other competitive players and Escape from Tarkov is not a forgiving game, and fosters a strong player versus player mentality.
