ESA Partnering with the IGDA for E3

As E3 2021 creeps ever closer, we are getting more and more information. Recently the ESA has detailed how attendees will be able to watch the virtual E3 event. And now they have added another organization to the list of exhibitors for E3. The ESA has announced a new partnership with the International Game Developers Association (IGDA). The IGDA is the world’s largest non-profit organization aimed at supporting indie game makers and has been instrumental in aiding indie companies and individuals throughout the pandemic.

The President and CEO of ESA spoke of the partnership as a way to further bolster indie game support in the industry. “We are reimagining E3 in a variety of ways, and part of that is engaging with indie developers by offering opportunities to help highlight them and their work on a global stage. Indie developers are a critical part of the video game industry, and we’re thrilled to expand our offerings to create opportunities to showcase their work worldwide.”

IDGA joins a wide lineup of other game developers and publishers coming to E3 2021. This includes Square Enix, Nintendo, Sega, Bandai Namco, Gearbox Entertainment, Marvelous, Freedom Games, Devious Eye Entertainment, and more. Even though this year the event is completely virtual, the online portal that was showcased a few days ago will allow for these exhibitors to offer virtual booths for special events and announcements.

E3 2021 will be taking place in less than a month, from June 12 to June 15, and attendees can watch the events through the online portal, E3 Twitch channel, E3 YouTube channel, and more.
