Epic Games Details The Fortnite World Cup

It is coming, the competitive event for Fortnite that esports and battle royale enthusiasts having been waiting for. Epic Games has finally announced the details of the upcoming Fortnite World Cup. Now in its eighth season, Fortnite has dominated the streaming charts as a free-to-play game that has popularity all over the world. From its Early Access to the present day season with hamster balls, redeploys, a reshaped map, and banana suits, players are eager to see the combat and building skills from the best in the game. With the World Cup detailed, professional and avid gamers have the chance to see if that have what it takes to bring home the prize money.

From April 13 through June 16 the Fortnite World Cup begins with Online Opens, which will have a $1 million prize pool throughout each week. There will be ten online tournaments for the chance to win some of this cash and also to qualify for the major portion of the Fortnite World Cup. Each session will be three hours long and players’ scoring will be based on their placement and their number of eliminations. Players will only be able to participate in one Online Open server region per tournament. The semi-finals each week will take place on Saturdays and the finals on Sundays. The highest ranked players in each server region will then advance to the Fortnite World Cup.

The best of the best will then meet in New York City from July 26 to July 28 for the Fortnite World Cup where a $30 million cash pool will be at stake. The finalists will squad up for the three-day event with competitors from around the world that will be surrounded by other “Fortnite-themed experiences.” Players who are curious about competing in this huge event can check out the rules that Epic has outlined on the tournament’s page.
