Eidos Montreal Announces new Deus Ex Title: “It’s Mobile!”

To the sound of collective groans, following Eidos Montreal’s teaser last week that a new Deus Ex announcement was forthcoming, Eidos Montreal has announced that Deus Ex: The Fall will, in fact, be a mobile title, releasing initially for iOS devices, and with an Android version intended (sorry, WebOS!).

The game is not a port, but an entirely new adventure, based upon a novel written by one of the Deus Ex writers. The story takes place at the same time as Human Revolution, but it’s not clear if the stories will interweave or overlap in anyway. You can see the announcement video below and read Eidos Montreal’s announcement here.

The original Deus Ex title was released in 2000, a first-of-its kind first-person adventure game set in a cyberpunk future, where many old school conspiracy theories have turned out to be true. It featured a branching storyline with multiple endings, as well as an environment that allowed players multiple approaches to solving puzzles.
