Publisher eastasiasoft and developer Frozen Flame Interactive have officially announced that their side-scrolling action adventure game Okko The Exiled will be launching for PC via Steam and GOG on September 30. Following the initial launch, the title is scheduled to arrive on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch in early 2027. Alongside the release date, a brand new gameplay trailer was released, which showcased retro-inspired pixel art and fast-paced precision platforming.
Set in a land of demons known as Kutala, the game gives players a chance to experience a beautifully hand-drawn world. Early in the journey, players will take control of Okko on a quest to defeat the Demon Lord Yalda and link his isolated realm with the heavens. After a millennium of concealment, the protagonist is ready to wield a legendary weapon known as the Mighty Fang to fulfill an ancient oath. The adventure requires explorers to carefully maneuver their character across side-scrolling stages, link together powerful abilities, and conquer enormous bosses that require quick-thinking strategy to secure victory.
During combat, players can utilize the unique skill set of the hero to adapt to every dangerous situation. The most notable feature is a Focus Mode that allows Okko to inflict extra damage and break enemy shields. Players are encouraged to explore everything they see to collect Deevols, which unlock special Underground challenge levels. Outside of direct battle, users can find respite at The Old Throne. This hub is where a colorful cast of allies will sell valuable items, prepare meals, and provide useful information to uncover buried secrets. Through continuous combat, Okko can upgrade his stats and unlock new abilities.
Okko The Exiled will be available both digitally and at physical retail for consoles. Okko The Exiled is currently scheduled to release on PC via Steam and GOG on September 30.
