EA Confirms That Jedi: Fallen Order Is Still Slated For A Fall Release

EA initially announced the new Star Wars title, Jedi: Fallen Order, back at E3 2018, not much was revealed about the project other than that it was to be 3rd person single player title that will be considered canon within the franchises universe. The game is said to be taking place during the events after Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. Besides that, little information is known and with 2019 finally here, fans are eager to know if it is still in the works and if it will still be able to meet its initial holiday 2019 release window.

Some good news in those regards came to fans by way of a financial report that EA has recently released detailing their 3rd Quarter. They mentioned that last year’s performance wasn’t quite what they’d hoped for but they were looking forward to things that they have coming within the near future. CFO Blake Jorgensen stated “Looking forward, we’re delighted to launch Anthem, our new IP, to grow Apex Legends and related Titanfall experiences, to deliver new Plants vs. Zombies and Need for Speed titles, and to add Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order to our sports titles in the fall.”

With this statement it seems like the game could arrive anywhere between early Fall and the holiday season. In addition to this tidbit of information, there was also the a comment on where the game is in its development, which is headed by Stig Asmussen.

During the Earnings call CEO Andrew Wilson said that “The game’s development is led by the former director of the God of War series, with a team of veterans from some of the industry’s biggest action-adventure games.” In regards to the progress, Wilson states that “It’s very far along in development, and having spent time with it recently myself, it plays spectacularly well. This game truly captures the fantasy of becoming a Jedi, and we will have a lot more to share soon.” Hopefully EA will shed more on the mysterious title sooner than later.
