EA and PopCap Confirm Plants Vs Zombies 3 by Adding Pre-Alpha on Google Play

Think of the strangest thing to fight against a zombie with. Now scratch that if you didn’t think of anything other than sunflowers and pea pods, you’re wrong. Unless you’re a big fan of PopCap and EA’s Plants Vs. Zombie series which has been around since 2009. Having gone through a basic concept of home defense against zombies using house-hold foliage, flowers, vegetables, fruits, and mushrooms. Oddly bizarre, and even more so oddly effective. To the point where it gained a sequel and, since roughly two weeks ago, talks of a third installment. Well, EA confirmed said third installment when they put up the Pre-Alpha onto Google Play:

The set-up for this home defense against wave of zombies by using house plants seems to still be following through with the screencaps shown on the Playstore page. With this, a few things can be confirmed: there are the familiar faces of certain plants and zombies, as well as some unfamiliar plants that haven’t shown up during the first or second installment of the games. Which means there will be new mechanics, and some new zombies to either counter or be countered by said mechanics.

PopCap has stated in the description that the game is currently pre-alpha, so there’s a lot of bugs and that certain events may occur because of these, or them altering the state of the usable plants and certain enemies. They mention that certain things may be removed from the game, and that saves won’t be very stable as removing things or fixing things may require complete resets of the game.

Currently, the pre-alpha is free, and the finished game will also be free. There are no microtransactions in the game as of now, but there do seem to be further down in the details about the game. There is no set date for when Plants vs. Zombies 3 will come out, but with proof of it being here, fans can have something to look forward too.
