E3 2014: Destiny Beta Starts July 17 First On PS4

Today was the day 0 of E3 and we got to see Sony’s E3 press conference tonight, which they have announced that the beta for Bungie’s upcoming shooter Destiny will be kicking off July 17, first on PlayStation 4.

With that announcement, Sony’s Andrew House also let’s us know that PlayStation 4 owners  will be able to play on the Alpha version of the game starting this Thursday June 12. The Alpha will be running from June 12 to June 15 and you can visit Destiny’s Alpha sign up for more information.

No words just yet on when the Destiny Beta will be coming to other platforms, but Destiny will be launching across PS4, PS3, Xbox 360, and Xbox One on September 9.

Destiny also released on stage a new E3 trailer, which was narrated by Peter Dinklage telling us how astronauts in the present day go to visit Mars in order to find life on Mars, but instead discover the alien being called the Traveler, which results in a golden age. Sony also announced an Exclusive 500GB PlayStation 4 Destiny Bundle, which will bring the first ever White PS4, with a PS4 version of Destiny, a matching white PS4 DualShock 4 controller, plus a month long subscription to PlayStation Plus. No words yet on the price for this bundle, but it will be available at launch day, September 9. Another Exclusive for Destiny that is included is special armor, the Exodus map, and a mission to Mars.
