Dynasty Warriors M is a free-to-play mobile RPG, developed by Nexon in collaboration with Koei Tecmo as a part of the popular Dynasty Warriors series. The game was released on November 22, 2023, for iOS and Android platforms, and it offers a mobile adaptation of the typical fast-paced and violent gameplay typical of games set in China’s Three Kingdoms era. Players have the opportunity to collect and level up 50 different officers from five distinct factions, all of which utilize special abilities and Musou powers. These officers are then put to the test as players engage in real-time combat where they must strategically use special abilities and switch between three characters to win the war
Dynasty Warriors M follows a narrative in the Three Kingdoms period and involves specific notable historical events, such as the Yellow Turban Rebellion and the Battle of Luoyang. The game features a variety of game modes, including conquest missions and a story mode that explores the lives of legendary historical figures from the era. Despite gaining moderate popularity in November 2023 and achieving more that 500,000 downloads on the Google Play Store, as well as maintaining a consistent 4.2-star Google Play rating, it seems as though Dynasty Warriors M’s moment in the sun has come to an end.
Nexon revealed Dynasty Warriors M upcoming shutdown via posts on the official Nexon message board and the mobile game’s Facebook page, thanking players for their continued “love and support” since the games launch last year. They then state that despite the game’s support, Dynasty Warriors M will nevertheless come to an end on February 20, 2025. Comments beneath the Facebook post generally conveyed a sense of great dismay at the news, with users claiming that “this is a big scam” and that the game “got a lot of money out of people only to shut the service down little over a year.” Other users simply bid the game farewell and stating that it was “fun while it lasted.”
Current players and anyone interested in trying out Dynasty Warriors M before its impending demise can download the game for free on iOS and Android devices. Nexon will end live service on February 20 next year, rendering the game completely unplayable.
