Dreams Beta Launches Tomorrow

After a tease yesterday announcing a live stream that occurred today, Media Molecule has finally revealed the release date for the Dreams beta. The beta will begin tomorrow, December 19, and will run until January 21. The beta is available to anyone who is a subscriber to the Media Molecule’s newsletter. Starting January 8, the general public will be allowed access to the demo.

As of now, anyone can still subscribe to the newsletter and gain access to the demo. However, there are some caveats to the beta. Anyone who tries the beta out will be asked to sign a confidentiality agreement. Media Molecule’s reason for this is that this will be the first time that the game’s tools will be accessible to the public. The beta will be available in the U.S., Canada, Europe, Africa, Australia, and The Middle East. Users must be 18 years and older, but a PlayStation Plus subscription is not required, as userss will only need a connection to the PlayStation Network.

It has been a long journey for Dreams. It was originally announced in 2015 along with the news that a beta would come later that year. After a couple more delays, some of the gaming sites were able to go hands-on with Dreams this year. Everyone came out very impressed with the tools that Media Molecule has created for the game, as every campaign level was made using only the tools that the developer produced.

One of the newest things that revealed was how you can create audio for the game. There is also a large community focus for the game; everything that is created can be shared and used by other people in the Dreams community. And if you don’t see yourself as a creator, you are also free to just enjoy what has been created by the community. The most integral aspect of Dreams is that it seems to be only limited by your imagination. While there is still no official release date, the launch of the beta brings it one step closer.
