Dragon’s Dogma 2: Trailer Revealed, Official Release Set for March 22, 2024; Pre-Orders Start Today

Capcom’s highly anticipated Dragon’s Dogma 2 had a showcase trailer today, revealing many exciting new locations and enemies as well as some story details. However, the most exciting thing revealed could possibly be its release date, set for March 22, 2024, next year with pre-orders available now for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. You can check the PC system requirements on Steam now as well.

Alongside the exciting returning enemies such as the drake and the living armor, not to mention the titular dragon Grigori as well, there are also some new foes that will stand in the way of our heartless Arisen like the siren revealed in the last trailer, as well as the medusa and her stone gaze. Probably the biggest, in a literal sense anyway, enemy shown in the trailer is the massive colossus that dwarfs the player, throwing a spear massive enough to destroy a castle gate.

But with more enemies also come more options, the stars of the trailer are the newly revealed classes. First being the returning Warrior from the original Dragon’s Dogma. The Warrior is a massive fan favorite in the franchise, with his big swings and massive charge attacks dealing insane damage at the cost of speed. And with Dragon Dogma 2’s new ability to stand on enemies we even see the Warrior charge the dreaded Arc of Obliteration on top of a drake’s head, so we’ll definitely be seeing many more YouTube compilations of builds one-shotting bosses.

Though on the subject of one-shotting bosses, the Sorcerer also appears. Another returning class from the original Dragon’s Dogma the Sorcerer is, in many ways, the magic equivalent to the Warrior: spending a lot of time charging moves for powerful payoffs. In this case, the magic the Sorcerer brings comes in the form of spectacular meteor showers and tornadoes, many have claimed that Dragon’s Dogma’s Sorcerer is the most powerful feeling spellcaster in video games, and as the showcase displayed your Sorcerer pawns can now help you by spell synching, doubling the effects of your flashy, world-rending displays of power.

Also featured is the Trickster, a new class and one exclusive to the Arisen. Not much is known about this new class, but the synopsis on the official Dragon’s Dogma website gives us an idea of what it’s about:

A vocation exclusive to the Arisen, the Trickster can conjure illusions through the smoke created by its unique weapon, the Censer.
Tricksters can use illusions to deceive enemies into fighting against their own. They also have the ability to temporarily increase the power of Pawns beyond their limits.

So it looks like it will be a support class, appropriately with the ability to trick enemies into fighting each other as well as buff your pawns with the magic smoke from the vocation’s swinging censor.

As stated, Dragon’s Dogma 2 will be available on March 22, 2024, for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, as well as on the PC via Steam. It will be priced at $69.99 on launch, with the Deluxe Edition featuring a few special items to help beginners as well as a Dragon’s Dogma music and sound collection will be available for $79.99, both versions are available for pre-order starting today!
