Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition Coming To Netflix December 14

Last month, it was reported that Netflix’s gaming plans include adding big titles like game from the Grand Theft Auto series. At the time, Netflix reportedly discussed licensing from Rockstar Games but it was unclear whether or not it would be an old game or a brand-new title. Today, these reports have been confirmed with Netflix announcing that Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition will make its way to the platform next month on December 14.

Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition released back in 2021. It bundles enhanced versions of Grand Theft Auto III, Grand Theft Auto Vice City, and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. The enhanced versions include an updated player experience, enhanced visuals, and platform-specific features. Each game has been updated for mobile with its release to Netflix.

In Grand Theft Auto III, players are welcomed to Liberty City where the revolution of the open-world genre began. The game features a massive and diverse open world, a wild cast of characters from every walk of life, and the freedom to explore at will.

Grand Theft Auto: Vice City transports players back to the 1980s. From the decade of big hair and pastel suits comes the story of Tommy Vercetti’s tale of betrayal and revenge as he rises to the top of the criminal pile in a neon-soaked tropical town full of excess and brimming with possibilities.

San Andreas takes players to the early 90s and follows Carl ‘CJ’ Johnson on a journey that takes him across the entire state of San Andreas, to save his family and to take control of the streets.

Players can pre-register to play either title starting today.

Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition adds to the growing catalog of more than 80 mobile games, with must-play titles across all genres adding further value to all Netflix memberships. Earlier this month, Netflix announced several more games coming to the platform including Hades, Katana Zero, Braid, Death’s Door, and more.

While Netflix is set to bring the classic trilogy of Grand Theft Auto titles to the platform on December 14, Rockstar Games is set to reveal what’s next for the franchise prior to that. The next Grand Theft Auto game will be officially revealed in early December.
