Dragon Ball Xenoverse Release Date and Steve Aoki Collaboration Announced

Bandai Namco has announced the official release date in North America for Dragon Ball Z Xenoverse 2, the sequel to the incredibly popular Dragon Ball Xenoverse. The official release date is October 25th, 2016 for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The steam version of Xenoverse 2 will be released October 28th 2016, soon after.

This was not the only news that Bandai Namco released in relation to Xenoverse 2. A new trailer was released for the game at Anime Expo. The trailer reveals the plot line of the history of the show, that the fans know so well, being altered and the protagonist having to fix these. The new trailer for Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 can be seen below.

Another Xenoverse 2 announcement is the inclusion of DJ Steve Aoki in the game’s soundtrack.  Aoki is going to be remixing a lot of the fan favorite music from the anime, including “Cha La Head Cha La” and “We Gotta Power.” Aoki will also make an appearance in the game as an NPC. He will appear in Xenoverse 2’s hub world, Conton. According to the release by Bandai Namco, Aoki said “Having grown up with Dragon Ball, I jumped at the chance to contribute my talents and leave my personal impact on the series.” In the same release Bandai Namco of America Vice President of Marketing Eric Hartness said, “Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 is shaping up to be the biggest and best Dragon Ball videogame experience to date.” We here at MXDWN got to see a presentation on this upcoming sequel during E3 this year and from what was shown there and this new trailer the game is building upon what made Dragon Ball Xenoverse so successful.

A gameplay trailer was also released via IGN. The gameplay trailer shows a fight between a “time patroller’, the default for a custom character, and Goku. The fighting style stays similar to the original Xenoverse, choosing to keep it as people liked it rather than altering it and possibly alienating all the people who bought the original. This gameplay trailer can be seen below.
