Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 E3 Presentation

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 is the upcoming sequel to the greatest selling Dragon Ball game of all time. Based on the presentation of the game at the E3 Bandai Namco booth, Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 is promising to build upon and improve what made the first one so popular. The player will still be able to pick from the races available in the original to create their custom character with a character creation system that promises to be an even more detailed process.

The hub world for Xenoverse 2 is going be 7 times as big as the hub world in Xenoverse. This massive hub world will be able to host up to 300 online players at one time. One of the biggest complaints about the hub world in the original Xenoverse was the long time it took to traverse the world on foot. In this new version the player will be able to dash and fly around the world in order to get around more quickly. This is not an instantly available ability; it must be earned. They are also introducing vehicles such as hoverboards that the player could also use to move around the hub world.

The combat in Xenoverse 2 has a couple of changes as well. Players have the ability to dash while locked on to their opponent, and kai blasts curve rather than only going straight. Other than this the combat is going to remain relatively unchanged. The player can still hot key moves, teleport dodge, and fight through the open map. The player will also have the ability to recreate multiple moments from the anime, one screenshot shown during the presentation showed the player on Planet Namek, with characters from that saga in the anime present.

One of the big announcements from this presentation is that players will be able to load their character and save file from Xenoverse into Xenoverse 2. The player will not need to start from scratch and have the option to progress their save file into a completely new game. Xenoverse 2 is also promising continual updates after the game’s initial release. This includes: updates, DLC, and also official online events for the game for over a year after launch.

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 is set to be released late 2016 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and for PC via Steam.

Carlos Barragan: likes video games. He likes them so much, in fact, that he writes about them. He likes other stuff too.
