Dragon Age: Inquistion Release Date and Digital Deluxe Edition Detailed

New details of Bioware’s Dragon Age: Inquisition have been revealed, namely the contents of a digital deluxe edition, and an October 7  release date for North America and  October 10 for Europe.

The two release dates, announced via the gameplay trailer below, encompass the PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. Coincidentally, the October 7 release date is also the same day when another fantasy RPG, WB Games’ Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor will be released.

A PC Digital Deluxe Edition has also been detailed, which will be available on EA’s gaming client Origin. For $69.99, $10 more than the standard edition, players will gain a digital soundtrack, unspecified “digital content,” and the Flames of the Inquisition DLC pack also available with standard edition preorders that will contain weapons, armor, and an exclusive mount.

Also included will be the Skyhold Throne, a fancy ornament for your in-game headquarters, a Red hart Halla and a Bog Unicorn, both fast travel mounts.

A physical collector’s edition is also set to be announced, with Bioware tweeting “We’re getting lots of questions about a #DAI Collector’s Edition, We hope to have news and details to report in the next few weeks on that!”

The momentum is building for this third entry to Bioware’s fantasy series. In this IGN article, Bioware producer Cameron Lee detailed how dragon combat in Inquisition will transcend the familiar fantasy game routine in which the dragon stands in one spot while players hack away at it indiscriminately: “They definitely spend a lot more time flying in combat, leaping around the battlefield, so they’re not that typical, static kind of creature anymore. They’ll charge at you, pounce around the battlefield, take off, do strafing runs, they’ll come back. There’s a whole different suite of locomotion mechanics and movement mechanics, which are a challenge.”

Additionally, there will be a greater variety of dragons and players will be able to target specific regions, such as wings and legs.

More on Dragon Age: Inquisitions is sure to follow when Bioware showcases it at E3 this June.
