Dogworld Releases On Steam Today

Today indie studio Lateralis released their game Dogworld onto Steam. The game is the first game released by the studio, and is a solo project developed by Nathan Haddock. This new title is inspired by other independent and retro games of the past. Dogworld is side scrolling Metroidvania game, set in a post-apocalyptic Earth, where all humans have been driven underground, and the Earth’s surface is now completely populated by dogs.

In Dogworld you play as one of the only human survivors, whose underground pod has sent them back to the earth’s surface. Players will run, jump, and shoot as they try to save what is left of humanity from a rogue AI known as Daddy. Players will encounter a variety of different characters, which are of course all dogs (Do not worry, yes you can pet the dogs). Along their journey, players will find and collect different weapons that can be upgraded to help deal with enemies. Players will need to make use of all the tools at their disposal, in order to defeat the multitude of unique bosses that stand in their way. Dogworld features retro pixel art similar to other titles such as Minit and Downwell, which is accompanied by fully original chiptune soundtrack. Gamers who have enjoyed similar platformers, such as 2004’s Cavestory, should definitely give Dogworld a look.

Dogworld is now available for purchase on Steam for $15 USD. For a limited time those who purchase the game can receive a 15% launch discount. A Nintendo Switch version of Dogworld is planned for 2021, with more details coming later.
