Two months ago Inqdrop Studios released the announcement trailer for their upcoming game Flick. This is a first person horror game that incorporates the feeling of found footage in its gameplay with the inclusion of a body camera.
In Flick, you must explore a home with a dark past that seems relatively normal–until you flick the lightswitches. Things that were ordinary turn gruesome, and you quickly find yourself existing in the middle of two planes of reality. To uncover the true history of the house, you have to flip between the realities; tools, hidden paths, and keys are hidden in the worst version of the house. As you progress, however, you are being hunted by something living there. It follows your footsteps and manifests upon each switch of the light, making every flick a gamble.
If this game sounds interesting to you, Inqdrop Studios is hosting a public playtest for Flick on Steam. The playtest has a runtime of about 20 minutes, just enough time to give each player a sense of the style or horror this game will have (though if you’re thorough and poke through every nook and cranny, it may run you a little longer). The developer of Flick, Kev, has one major question for everyone who gives the playtest a try: Does this game scare you? He encourages players to reach out to him and give honest feedback, he isn’t afraid to make changes and aims to make adjustments to perfect his first solo developed game on Steam. Those invested in the game will be happy to know Kev also plans on releasing a bigger demo that will be longer in length and give players more of a feel of Flick before its release later this year.
Flick is available to playtest on Steam now, with an anticipated release date set for November 26, 2026.
