Disappointing Pokémon Go Update Only Gives Players Baby Pokémon; Not Gen 2 Pokédex

Despite winning Mobile Game of the Year, Pokémon Go, the once hyped up game, has continued down its road of disappointment. Players hoped that the new update revealed via Starbucks would contain all of the Gen 2 Pokémon. Instead of that, players can hatch baby Pokémon with 2-10 kilometer eggs and you can catch a Pikachu that is wearing a Santa Claus hat. Yay? Uh, how about no.

Not only does the update not feature the Johto Pokédex, not all baby Pokémon are available for hatching. You can hatch Magby, Elekid, Togepi, Igglybuff, Cleffa, Pichu and Smoochum. Not only does that leave out 11 baby Pokémon, but it also leaves out Tyrogue, which is a Johto Pokémon.

Players across social media have voiced their disappointment with the update. Below is an allstar lineup brought to you from Kotaku‘s story.

Players were reporting that they completed the Pokémon Go Pokédex as early as July, and it was that fact that made the most sense for complete Gen 2 update, especially since dataminers revealed that there is code for the Gen 2 Pokédex in the game. It is unsure if those Gen 2 Pokémon will ever appear in Pokémon Go; Niantic said they like to keep things like this a surprise. Those baby Pokémon will only appear in post-update eggs. Since a player can’t un-incubate his or her eggs, players are forced to spend their own hard-earned money on incubators, something that players don’t want to do with a free app. Also, hello Niantic, winter is within the next two weeks. It’s cold and some places are already experiencing snow.

There is also no battling and no trading. My plea to Pokémon fans around the globe: Delete Pokémon Go from your phone and just buy Pokémon Sun and Moon. It may cost a bit of money, but you can catch Pokémon, battle and trade with your friends from the comforts of your own home.

I'm a big Pokémon fan, so I'l spend a lot of my time playing that. Other than that, I love sports, particularly the Charlotte Hornets and the Carolina Panthers. No matter how bad the team is, I will always rep them.
