In official Xbox blogger Major Nelson’s new podcast, Microsoft Studios’ head Phil Spencer said that the company has some big news planned for its Gamescom presentation.
In Major Nelson’s podcast, Spencer said, “We’re going to have a really short stage presentation with some news talking about some unique exclusive coming to [Xbox One].” He also said that the company would be talking about “Europe’s biggest franchise and maybe some interesting things there.”
With the Tokyo Game Show coming September 19-22, it’s unlikely any Japanese developer or publisher will be the source of this “big game,” so you can all but rule out a Square Enix or Capcom announcement.
In addition, Microsoft will allow Gamescom attendees to play Forza 5, Dead Rising 3, Ryse, Killer Instinct, and Zoo Tycoon on the show floor.
