Today game developer and publisher Tripwire Interactive has revealed the details of their upcoming DLC for Maneater, known as Maneater: Truth Quest. The DLC will launch later this summer on PlayStation4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. For those who are unaware, Maneater is an open-world RPG where you play as a shark who must work its way up the food chain in order to rampage against fishermen and other enemies.
Maneater: Truth Quest will take place after the events of the base game, and is set in Port Clovis, focusing on the Naval Wildlife Organization and the conspiracies surrounding it. Players will uncover the truth behind rumors of animals growing bone-like armor, emitting flesh-eating toxins, and using electricity as a weapon. The DLC includes two new episodes and a new region filled with new challenges, wildlife, and evolutions to discover. Two new objective types will be included in the DLC.
The first objective type is Failure to Communicate, where players will tail whip objects to destroy the objective. The other objective type is a fairly straightforward Time Trial, where players have to swim through a series of rings before the time runs out. The DLC also includes some smaller additions such as raising both the maximum level and maximum shark size and including five new bounty bosses you can encounter.
Maneater: Truth Quest will launch this summer on both console and PC. The base Maneater game is currently available for PC on the Epic Games Store for $39.99. Additionally, players who purchase the game before April 8, will receive a forty percent discount.
