Bungie has announced that Destiny 2‘s Cross-Save feature which was announced earlier this year will be available on August 21, 2019. The feature will allow players to access their Guardians across multiple platforms. Bungie provided details on how the new feature works and other information about Cross-Save.
Cross-Save for Destiny 2 will enable players to choose one Destiny player account that can be accessed from whatever platform they choose to play. The feature will work on all platforms including PlayStation, Xbox, Steam, and Stadia. Cross-Save will only bring the gear, weapons, and loot that is a part of the Active Account. Game purchases and Silver will remain on the platform that the purchase took place. Cross-Save is only available to transfer Guardians from one place to another and play with them, Cross-Save does not enable the opportunity to play with other Guardians on different platforms. The Active Account will be a part of only one Destiny Clan. It will take up one Clan Roster slot and give you access to the Clan teammates currently playing on the same platform. You can make progress on Clan objectives as you play on different platforms as well.
The Cross-Save feature is all a part of the next chapter of Destiny 2 which includes a lot of new things coming to the game in the near future. A new expansion, Shadowkeep was announced as well as news of the game coming to Google Stadia when it launches. Shadowkeep will bring in several new features including major changes to armor and finishing moves. New Light, free-to-play version of Destiny 2 was also announced. Recently, Bungie announced that Shadowkeep and New Light which was originally going to release on September 17 will now be released on October 1, 2019. Bungie said: “This fall is the first step on a journey for what our team wants Destiny 2 to become – a place for you and your friends to play anytime, anywhere; owning the action MMO and RPG elements that we love about the game; and crushing barrier to entry for friends. We just need a bit of extra time to take the first step.”
