No Man’s Sky Beyond Launch Trailer Reveals New Additions to the Game

The No Man’s Sky Beyond update is just around the corner and just like many of the previous updates, Beyond is looking to bring a whole new experience to fans regardless of the amount of time spent in its current state. Previously, we discussed Beyond and it being an update consisting of three parts. The first being the implementation of VR. The second a new online experience, and the third still being a mystery. With the release of the launch trailer and Sean Murray breaking his silence, info on the third part of the update has been revealed discussing all the new features that have been added. Overall, this update is so big, Murray is calling it No Man’s Sky 2.0.

Murray explained his thoughts on all three parts of Beyond. The VR implementation was made using a new control scheme from the ground up for all platforms. Players will be able to throttle there ship with one hand and control the flight with another granting a very immersive experience. Mining, building, exploring, and simply greeting players with the VR overhaul will give a whole new experience. Of course, if VR is not your thing, there are plenty more additions coming with Beyond.

More details on the online portion have been revealed as well. You can now expect to run into random players on planets or in space. Given the vastness of the game, this may still not be easy, but if you would really like to meet other players a Nexus is now available to visit that will have a hub of up to 32 players. This hub will behave much like “The Tower” in Destiny and players can group up, explore, and do missions together making meeting new friends who also enjoy No Man’s Sky much easier and enjoyable.

The last bit of information are the additional features that will be released with Beyond. Murray explained he understood from his community there are so many ways No Man’s Sky can be played. Because of this, He attempted to add new features to all aspects of the game. In Beyond you will find a multitude of new content at your disposal. The number of building components has been increased making more options for creativity for base building. There are new galactic maps and discovery pages for explorers. You will also run into aliens roaming the open world now and be introduced to a new language system. Farming was a big component added to the game and now animals can be tamed and farmed, giving you the ability to even ride them.

No Man’s Sky Beyond is looking to enhance on the current game substantially granting many features fans have been asking for. With the support of the community and the eagerness of the developers, No Man’s Sky continues to grow into a game the offers a one of a kind experience. The update will be released on August 14th and will be playable on Xbox, PC, PS4, PSVR and Steam VR.

Nathan Arquiette: Mom and Dad would never buy me a gaming console growing up, so I bought my own Dreamcast when I was 10 years old. Ever since then my passion for gaming went wild. Why watch a movie or read a book when you can take part in the plot playing a game was my philosophy. "Video games rot your brain" but I had a 10th grade reading level in the 6th grade all thanks to RPG's. Talking and writing about games is something I will never get tired of.
