In case you weren’t aware, Cyberpunk 2077 is finally out and the community has had a lot to say about it, both good and bad. While the game has gone onto be an international success, it’s also become an arduous topic in the video game industry, especially when it comes to how CD Projekt Red conducted themselves leading up to its release. Unfortunately, this has lead to the game being desisted from the PlayStation Store, with Sony also offering refunds for those who wish to get their money back. In the midst of all this, another game has apparently collaborated with the Cyberpunk 2077 launch, Hideo Kojima’s Death Stranding. The PC version’s newest update has added some brand new Cyberpunk 2077 related content, all of which is completely free.

The surprise DLC includes some recognizable items from Cyberpunk 2077. This includes the Reverse Trike vehicle, which is taken from the Yaiba Kusanagi CT-3X, a motorcycle that is also heavily inspired by the anime film Akira. Death Stranding’s Sam Bridges can also attack a new cyber metal arm, and a new pair of slick sunglasses, both of which are taken from Keanu Reaves’ character Johnny Silverhand. Sam can also put on V’s original face-plate, making it looks like he’s had cybernetic enhancements.
In addition to all of this, Sam can also use V’s hacking capabilities such as scanning for objects and enemies, stop sensor poles for a short time, and stun Ordradeks in their tracks. On top of all this, the update also adds six new missions to Death Stranding, all of which feature characters and lore from Cyberpunk 2077. As we mentioned earlier, this update with the new content is only available on the PC version of Death Stranding. Kojima did not mention if this DLC will come to the PlayStation 4 version, but hopefully, he’ll give us some more information sooner than later.
Death Stranding is available for the PlayStation 4 and PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store. Cyberpunk 2077 is available for the PlayStation 4 (physical), Xbox One, and PC through Steam, GOG, the Epic Games Store, and Google Stadia.
