Dauntless, the co-op action RPG is still a little ways off from releasing but players will have the chance to try out the game early starting today. The Monster Hunter like title has now officially started it’s closed beta. Developer Phoenix Labs stated that the closed beta will “build upon” the game’s live service with a steady amount of content and updates dded on a regular basis. The updates will include new weapons, gear, story expansions, and Behemoths for players to battle against.
Anyone who is interested in participating within the closed beta may do so by buying one of the Founder’s Packs from Dauntless’s official website. Each pack will include a wide array of items available to use in the game along with access to the beta. The cheaper option for players will cost $40 and will grant them “champion status” for 90 days, and will increase Behemoth drops. It also includes a bunch of consumable items, an in game title along with a forum icon, as well as an exclusive flare. The Hero Pack which is $70 will have all of the items in the $40 pack along with 10 Chromo Cores and 10 Transmog Stones to change the appearance of the player’s gear.
And to those who are planning on attending PAX West will have an opportunity to try out the game as well. Phoenix Labs will be providing a hands on demo of the closed beta at a booth during the event. The developer also stated that players who do well in battle will be granted access to the beta and will earn exclusive rewards. The game will release as a free to play downloadable title sometime by the end of 2017. However the new game does not have a definite release date.
