D4 – Pushing the Limits of Interactive Gaming

Announced at Microsoft’s E3 2013, D4, “Dark Dreams Don’t Die”, looks to be at the cutting edge of interactive gameplay. No need for controllers with this murder mystery. Just sit back and engulf yourself as an investigator who is desperate to solve his wife’s murder.

This event in his life, while tragic, has left him with no other memory and the gift of time travel. This is done through the use of memento’s gathered throughout the past. Sound strange? Well that’s only the tip of this episodic iceberg.

Director – Hidetaka Suehiro, has pulled out all the stops in his latest creation, expanding on the use and capability of the Kinect system. Where games before used only motion, this game uses enhance motion recognition and voice command throughout the adventure to truly give the player that in-game feel. Why settle for physically selecting your dialogue options when you can read your lines out loud?

To add to the already gritty edge this game has, they used a graphic novel style for the visual setting which really sets the tone.

The release date for this game has yet to be announced.
