CD Projekt Red has revealed that their upcoming game, Cyberpunk 2077, will be getting its own event this June. Dubbed the Night City Wire, the studio hasn’t mentioned what’s in store for this intriguing experience, but one would hope that it will involve some new gameplay mechanics that we haven’t seen yet. Not only that, but the date falls on June 11, during the four-month-long Summer Games Event created by Geoff Keighly, which is essentially one of the major replacements for E3 2020 after it was canceled due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.
Without a doubt, Cyberpunk 2077 is one of the most hyped and anticipated games of the year. Despite being delayed earlier in February, the momentum that the studio has been building up to this point hasn’t slowed down in the slightest. If anything, we’ve been receiving more information and news in regards to the title, such as limited-edition Xbox One X system, the DLC plans after the game releases, the unique 75 different side quests that you’ll be able to play through in addition to the main story quests, and game’s age rating being leaked in Brazil.
Considering the circumstances, as well as the aforementioned date and time frame, we’re more than likely in store for some serious announcements. Maybe not quite on the same level as bringing Keanu Reeves on stage and introducing him as major character in the game, but some exhilarating reveals nonetheless. On top of that, this was supposed to be the final E3 showing for the title before its release date in September. Therefore, it’s safe to assume that the studio won’t be holding back anymore. We’ll be keeping an eye out for more information as we get closer to the date, but until then here’s hoping we get a better look at the open-world aspects!
Cyberpunk 2077 will launch on September 17, 2020, for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. It will also release for the next generation of consoles sometime after they launch.
